At the end of November in Kazan, at the initiative of the Eurasian Dialogue, the federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan held a public forum on economic issues. The event was attended by Russian and foreign experts and politicians. In particular, Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission Timur Suleimenov, Chairman of the State Duma of the sixth convocation Sergey Naryshkin, and Head of Rossotrudnichestvo spoke at the plenary sessions on the first and second days. Konstantin Kosachev, Senators Andrey Klimov, Oleg Kazakovtsev, Ilyas Umakhanov, Advisor to the President of Russia Sergey Glazyev, Vice-rector of MGIMO Alexey Podberezkin, Government Commissioner of Ukraine for Cooperation with the Russian Federation, States — Valery Muntiyan, Minister of Education of Armenia Armen Ashotyan and others participated in the CIS, EurAsEC and other regional associations.
The forum was a continuation of the international conference “Eurasian Union: Ambitions, Problems, Prospects”, held here in June 2012, but it was more ambitious, both in terms of the number of events held in Kazan itself and the availability of other venues. This time, the organizers included Minsk, Astana, Kiev, Beijing, Brussels, Moscow and St. Petersburg via video communication system. All discussions were also broadcast on the Internet on the websites of the organizers.
