On the initiative of the Eurasian Dialogue at the Russian Parliamentary European Club, Kazan hosted the II Kazan Public Forum “Eurasian Integration: Achievements and Challenges”, which was a continuation of last year’s event with the same name. The event was organized by the Federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. On the first day of the forum, 9 breakout discussions were held at the main venue in Kazan:

  • “Creation of a common financial market in the Eurasian space”
  • “Innovative infrastructure as a basis for the development of international cooperation”
  • “The current state and prospects of Eurasian integration”
  • “The Party dimension of Eurasian cooperation”
  • “A new generation of citizens on the threshold of the Eurasian Economic Union and the role of non-profit organizations in Eurasian integration”
  • “Institutional features of the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in modern integration processes”
  • “The EAEU on the world stage – the interaction of the new union with international associations and third countries”
  • “Social aspects of Eurasian integration – education, labor market, population mobility”
  • “Issues of collective security of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in the new world”

On the second day, two plenary sessions were held, which were broadcast on the Internet. A special feature of the event, as well as most of the events held by the Eurasian Dialogue and the European Club, was video communication with remote locations in other countries.

The Forum discussed issues related to Eurasian integration and the results of preparatory work for the creation of The Eurasian Economic Union (the EAEU, we remind you, begins its activities on January 1, 2015). The Forum was almost the last such event aimed at summarizing the results.

The Forum was attended by representatives of various public circles and government authorities in Russia, Europe and Asia. In total, representatives of 15 countries took part in the forum.:
