On the initiative of the Eurasian Dialogue, an international conference on food security in the Asia-Pacific region was held in Vladivostok on June 24, 2016 at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU).
The conference was devoted to the analysis of the existing situation in various aspects of food security in the Asia-Pacific region (mainly in its Western part) and the prospects for its sustainable development in the future, as well as Russia’s contribution to this process. The conference organizers presented to the participants the opportunities of the Far East and Siberia in terms of investment attractiveness in the field of agriculture and food production.
The Conference program included the holding of plenary sessions, panel discussions, round tables, and the organization of bilateral meetings to strengthen mutual understanding, find useful contacts and fresh ideas. The official language is English.
Representatives of relevant ministries of the Russian Federation, regional authorities, international organizations, business representatives, experts from China, Japan, South and North Korea, ASEAN countries, Australia, New Zealand, etc. took part – about 200 participants in total.
